About me

I am licensed in the UK and South Africa with 9 years of professional work experience. I have worked as a psychotherapist, psychologist and trauma counsellor. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, addictions, adapting to different life changes, trauma & coping with grief and loss. I have worked in private practice, hospitals/GP surgeries (NHS and South Africa), educational settings, addiction recovery programs and in the criminal justice system. I aim at creating bespoke therapeutic interventions for each of my clients. Therapy is not a one size fits all, hence I strive to meet my clients where they are and help them find alternative pathways to their most authentic and purposeful lives. I believe people have the innate ability to adapt to the demands of an ever-changing conditions. You are the creator of your own experience and have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming challenges. Humankind is wired for connection and meaning-making. Therapy creates the ideal link between both.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Charnė Buissinne. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Charné was a perfect fit for me. She was supportive and engaging, and knew what I needed. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend her as a therapist.

Written on Nov 18, 2024 after therapy with Charnė for 2 months on issues concerning stress, anxiety

I simply couldn’t ask for a better therapist; I’ve never felt more heard. Charné listens without judgement and responds on a personable, but constructive and helpful level. I look forward to our sessions and leave feeling energised rather than deflated as I have in previous experience with therapy.

Charnė has been nothing short of amazing. I absolutely love my Betterhelp experience and can't imagine my life without it really! Always valuable, always understanding, thank you Charnė!

Written on May 14, 2024 after therapy with Charnė for 1 year and 5 months on issues concerning stress, anxiety, intimacy-related issues, and sleeping disorders

Charné is such a kind, thoughtful, and engaged therapist. I feel like I can bring anything to our sessions and my concerns will be treated with respect and open the door to more dialogue. I look forward to my sessions every week with Charné and feel both validated and invited to consider other perspectives / possibilities.

Written on Apr 27, 2024 after therapy with Charnė for 6 months on issues concerning family conflicts, and coping with life changes

Charné has been instrumental in helping me learn the language and modalities I needed to overcome my own personal challenges and make me feel capable in tackling the challenges I’ve been facing both at home, at school, and abroad as I am an international student. Since starting therapy with her I’ve been able to make significant changes towards bettering my attitude and mental resilience towards my own life, my relationship to myself and in my relationships with other people. I highly recommend her as she has, on many occasions, also been able to draw on her relevant experience and careers in other fields to inform our sessions and the takeaways/lessons I learn from each.
