About me

Stress in its many forms is an inevitable part of life, and there will be waves. So I say, if you gotta ride the waves, you might as well choose your surfboard. Unfortunately people aren’t usually taught what to do when the waves come, and I hope to guide and support you as you learn to surf. I may be a therapist, but I’m a human first; I just know different things and ask different types of questions. I believe great therapy relies primarily on the relationship, and so I’ll make it a priority for you to feel comfortable, accepted, and emotionally safe. And even though therapy can and should be tough at times, my hope is that you’ll laugh and smile a little on the way.

Officially a family therapist, I always have the overall system in mind and believe that everything and everyone influences everything and everyone else. Problems in relationships, diagnoses, and internal struggles are often manifestations of reactions to stress. I’ll help you understand what’s happening in the brain when you are triggered and teach you a set of skills to help you to think clearly, be your best self, and make good decisions you can be proud of, even when stressed.

I have worked in a variety of environments, with people of all ages, and with many different presenting problems, including those rooted in trauma. Aside from working plenty with adults, supporting children and families gives me a unique perspective and experience to help you in your current stage of life’s journey. As a therapist, I utilize models such as solution-focused, cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, and trauma-informed approaches, all present-centered and strengths-based.

I offer you a relationship and experience that may help you access quick solutions and become more effective in all other relationships – with yourself, with others, with life. Not only will I bear witness to your life experience as an objective, yet understanding and empathic third party, I will also help you identify, access, and act upon your values – what is truly most important to you.

I commend you for taking this step, it’s not an easy one. Know this – small steps can leave significant footprints.

Chris has helped me immensely through a rough time of my life. His attentiveness and creativity with his counseling approach is beyond reproach. His assistance with me has helped some of those around me through proxy and he provides me with the tools to more effectively assist others that may be going through similar circumstances. I cannot adequately put into words my thanks to Chris for his help.

Chris has been a perfect fit for me, and my family, as I was most concerned about improving our relationships with each other, as well as their individual well being. His experience with youth, family, and trauma counseling gives him lots of tools to share with us, and he is very focused on really delivering value and intention in each session. We are very happy and consider ourselves very lucky to have him as our counselor, and have already recommended him to others. I love his flexibility, and good heart. We know he cares.

Chris is amazing. I came into therapy not knowing what it was all about and quite honestly, terrified. I started out not knowing how to answer his questions and being very hesitant to jump into it, but shortly into speaking with him, he made me feel very comfortable which made it so easy to open up about what I needed to talk about. I will always come back to Chris when I need to talk to someone, and I know I will use what he taught me for the rest of my life!

Chris has and continues to be an incredible resource. His candid honesty, balance and guidance is invaluable. He has been a guide through an incredibly difficult time in my life and provided tangible and applicable tools to help me get through this time and as a higher function person, learning to manage anxiety, insecurities and ADHD in a way that will allow me to come out better, no matter the outcome of it all.
