Chris Rose, BACP
About me
I'm a Welsh person-centred counsellor living and working in the north-west of England. I offer welcoming, private and non-judgmental 50 minute sessions where clients can feel comfortable and safe to explore whatever they're struggling with.
I strive to establish and maintain improved emotional wellbeing within clients. Your goals from therapy will be established then explored in order to gain broader self-awareness, greater self-acceptance and inner peace.
Counselling should help to harness your existing inner resources to work through the challenges you face. I'll facilitate helping individuals to prioritise your concerns, adapt your coping strategies and begin to come to terms with life's difficult events. This is achieved by empathically accepting that your struggles are valid while building your realistic, achievable goals.
What I've discovered to be a useful aim is usually to quickly establish rapport and psychological contact so that clients can begin to experience some of the effectiveness of therapy. I'm also aware that some clients might prefer to spend longer at the start telling their story in a linear manner before we begin to explore aspects of their experiences in greater depth.
Some clients find it helpful to be challenged so that they can break out of old modes of thinking and behaving whereas other clients find it beneficial to utilise their existing ways of being which they feel comfortable with and proud of. Whichever way suits you best, I'm confident to work with you in order to enhance your quality of life.
My long-term experience enables me to offer effective therapy to a wide cross section of clients from a diverse population. I non-judgmentally counsel a range of emotional and psychological difficulties with adults of all ages and backgrounds - helping them move forward to where they want to be in their lives.
Whether you'd feel more comfortable speaking to a counsellor via video so facial expressions can be seen or via telephone so you can maintain a level of privacy; either of these can be accommodated. Alternatively, some people who are used to texting in their personal lives would rather also conduct their counselling sessions via text therefore this method is also available to you.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Chris Rose. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Chris is the best listener I've ever met. He only talks when he needs to and his responses are always balanced and delivered at the right moment. I think he believes in letting you find your own path rather than guiding you. Personally speaking, it works.
