About me

I am licensed in Alabama with 8 years of professional work experience. My early work involved working in a family farm business. While I enjoyed it (and still do), I found myself wanting to go back to school and study counseling. So that's what I did--earning my master's degree in Counseling from the University of Montevallo. This was an excellent fit because for most of my life, I have been passionate about better understanding myself and others, and how this understanding can lead to a healthier, more fulfilled life. To this end, I have studied personality theory, career strategy, metal health interventions, and relationship skills. As a counselor, I have experience in helping clients effectively deal with stress, anxiety and depression, and improve their motivation, self-esteem and confidence. Additionally, I am passionate about helping clients discover their best career or make the most of the career they are in.
I believe you are a unique individual, born with distinct strengths and challenges. As you grow, you encounter different people, situations and experiences. In response to these, you acquire beliefs and skills. Some of these skills and beliefs are helpful to you, while others are not. My desire is, first, to assist you in identifying what you want out of counseling. And next, to help you to pursue those life goals by effectively utilizing skills and beliefs that are helpful, while helping you change the beliefs and skills that are holding you back. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life is both exciting and scary. I am here to support you throughout this process.

Christy is the best !! I can't emphasize enough how remarkable my sessions with Christy have been. Despite the distance, she creates a space that feels just as safe and supportive as if we were in the same room. Christy's ability to listen transcends the screen; she tunes in with genuine empathy and understanding, making every session deeply impactful.

What truly sets Christy apart is her talent for empowering her clients to embrace their true selves, even through a virtual platform. She's not just a therapist; she's a guiding light who gently encourages self-discovery and self-acceptance. With her guidance, I've found the courage to pursue what truly resonates with me at my core.

Christy's positivity radiates through the screen, and her sense of humor adds levity to our meetings. She has a remarkable way of offering encouragement and reassurance, making each session feel like a step forward. I always leave our Zoom calls feeling uplifted and motivated to tackle whatever challenges come my way.

In essence, Christy isn't just an exceptional therapist; she's a beacon of support, understanding, and positivity. I'm endlessly grateful for her guidance on my journey.
