About me

Hello, and welcome to my page. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and have been practicing since 2009. I service adults presenting with a variety of concerns, including grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, adjustment, life & career direction, and relational. Additionally, I have experience servicing those undergoing physical health challenges, like cancer, and journeying with them through grief and adjustment.

My style is empathic and attuned to my client's needs. I help clients connect with themselves to foster a healthy self-relationship and develop awareness of their inner experience and internal compass for growth, healing, and direction. I use a framework of Emotion Focused Therapy (Johnson), Attachment Therapy (Bowlby), and Self Psychology (Kohut) with an experiential component.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre (performance) and English (writing) from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Appalachian State University. I have specialized training in expressive arts therapy, somatic experiencing, and emotional neglect.

I am here to travel with you on your journey to wherever that takes us. Contact me to learn more about working together.

Working with Christina has helped me greatly. A safe space has been created for me to talk by her respecting my pace & validating my feelings. She is open to feedback and often makes adjustments according to my needs. She feels like an ally not an expert, gently guiding me along on my journey.

Christina is my go-to person whenever I feel overwhelmed with things that triggers me and she with an open heart always listens to me and makes me feel better about myself.

Christina has been amazing! Even on days where I feel like I don't know what to talk about it is comforting to have someone who will listen to me.

A problem with therapy in the past for me was not feeling like I was making progress. Christina got right to the point. 1st session she got to know me and helped to outlined my goals. 2nd she jumped right into understanding my narcissist partner and offered me other resources to gain a deeper understanding . 3rd she helped me figure out how to open dialog with my kids about our family dynamic without involving them in adult issues. This is just 3 sessions in! She doesn't keep it stagnant. She's made it so I can see myself making progress right away. She always makes me feel heard and reflects my thoughts back to me which not only makes me feel heard, but helps me to better understand my own thoughts and feelings that often seem so jumbled to me.
