I am very familiar with drug and alcohol addictions, and feel that I can be of help in this area. As well I work with the LGBT population and am an active proponent while understanding the struggles that might be encountered.
I am a member of the Kentucky Counseling Association and American Psychological Association.
I joined a private practice with a Psychiatrist in Northern Kentucky that I had been with for the last 17 years until moving back home to Missouri 2 years ago. I was also employed for 10 years with a State agency. I have a Masters degree in Professional Counseling and I am presently earning a PhD in General Psychology.

My counseling style is based on The Carl Roger's idea of unconditional positive regard. In simple terms; for a person to grow they need an environment of genuine openness and self-disclosure with total and unconditional acceptance. Therefore with full empathy I will inquire and interact respectfully to fully understand your specific situation.
When appropriate I also use ideas based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) which include: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness and Emotional Regulation.

Cindi is a very understanding and compassionate person. She’s personable without crossing the line into too-friendly territory. Usually, we talk about whatever is on my mind. Sometimes when I don’t know what I’m feeling she’ll bring up a concern (that usually is still a problem) that I mentioned in our conversations before. Then we talk about it. Sometimes I cry. But I always feel better. It helps to just talk to someone who listens, cares for your well-being, and provides the tools you need to start feeling better.
I come from a background where we don’t talk about our problems. Mental health issues weren’t real issues and we didn’t seek medical help or therapy for issues that are “in your head”, so I was terrified to start seeing a therapist.
Cindi put all my worries at ease and helped me through some of the darkest times in my life. I couldn’t ask for a better therapist! I’m so glad I was paired with her when I signed up.
I’ve been seeing Cindi regularly again for the past few months, on and off since the fall of 2019.

I knew Cindi was going to help ease the mental crap-storm from the very first message that she sent me. Cindi has truly been an amazing therapist for me, she always replies in a timely manner and always reviews situations with care and support. Cindi is a very understanding counselor with a focus on addressing specific issues. She is kind, caring and able to give a gentle prod when necessary. I'm enjoying my time working with her and she has really helped me feel less anxious day-to-day.

I was pleased to find out about Better Help. I am on fixed income & can't afford $300 an hour. I believe in Karma & my guardian Angel. I am SO pleased with Cindi. She listens & understands. She doesn't make fun of my beliefs & helps guide me in them. She seems very down to Earth & can be funny. I feel comfortable telling her things I'd never tell anyone else.
