About me

Hello, in an effort to introduce myself, I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. I became involved in counseling because my husband was a Vietnam veteran that suffered from chronic PTSD and unfortunately Agent Orange. Initially, I wanted to only work with veterans' administration but there were other opportunities in life for me. I have worked in the prison system here in Florida, I have also worked at a community counseling centers and I have also had the pleasure to work with children, most of which were in the DCF program. Children are incredibly resilient. I have worked with clients that have suffered from depression, anxiety, anger management, abandonment issues, ADHD, and trauma.

Counselling for me is a way to help people reconnect to who they are, encourage faith, compassion and sensitivity and respect for who they are. I work to develop an empathetic working relationship based on trust. It takes courage to reach out and ask for help and change is hard, but incredible rewarding. Reach out and take the first step.

I look forward to hearing from you!

I’m new to actually making an appointment. But Claire’s been great.

Ms McGuire is professional, intuitive, and seems to know exactly what answers I'm seeking. I'm so fortunate to have matched with her out of the gate. I know good things will happen with my continued therapy with her.
