Clarence Chapman, LPCC
About me
Hello! My name is Clarence, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor with over 9 years of experience providing therapy services. I have worked in many therapeutic settings, including inpatient adolescent drug and alcohol care, partial and intensive outpatient care, intensive home-based care, and outpatient services. I work with clients affected by depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma, and relationship challenges from individual, group, and family work.
My approach to therapy is client-centered: clients are the experts in their lives and determine the direction and depth of therapy. Through a strengths-based and solutions-focused lens, I draw on multiple treatment modalities to guide clients in identifying strengths and developing treatment plans that accomplish their goals. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I assist clients in exploring relationships among thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to aid in discovering dysfunctional thought patterns leading to self-destructive behaviors and beliefs.
Outside my work, I am a full-time doctoral student focusing on community care and counseling, specializing in pastoral counseling. As a Christian, I attend church and try to live a life that pleases God. I enjoy reading, hiking, canoeing, camping, walking, star gazing, and just about anything outside. I have a wonderful wife and four grown children. We also are blessed to have two wonderful dogs, Tucker and Bella, and our “purrfect” cat Chloe!
I look forward to working with you, and together, we can begin the process of becoming the you that you want to be!
