Connie Anderson, LPC
About me
Hello and welcome!! Making the first step to ask for help is the hardest step. You have made it and I'm so glad you're here. I have been working in mental health for over 9 years, and have been working with individuals, couples, children, and families. For the past 9 years I have been working in a clinical outpatient setting. I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) . I believe the foundation of change start with a relationship between you and your therapist that includes trust, respect, and compassion. I have a Masters degree in Counseling from William Carey University.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Mississippi, I have been serving individuals and families with a wide variety of issues. I have done a lot of work with trauma. I have experience working with trauma, depression, anxiety, self worth and self esteem, life transitions, grief and loss, attention issues, and anger management. My approach is very supportive and validating, while challenging you to confront barriers that prohibit you from feeling happy and fulfilled. I use a combination of supportive, cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and strengths based approaches and will tailor my approach based on your needs. I believe that counseling is a collaborative experience and I will work with you to help you identify your personal and mental health goals, while helping you utilize your strengths to live to your full potential.
I look forward to meeting and working with you.

Connie responds quickly and with compassion. She is good at checking on me and is good at "pulling things out" of me when I really do not know where to begin.

Connie made it easy to communicate, and she made therapy comfortable for me. She knew what I needed out of therapy, and it made things comfortable and easy for me. That was so appreciated because I needed that space due to my current struggles where things were not always comfortable and easy.
