About Me
My Name is Connie Champion. I am very passionate about my work as I love to see clients reach their personal goals. My methodology is to use solution focused therapy to support clients in making positive changes. Solution focus is a future-oriented, goal-directed approach to assist in solving problems in our daily lives through use of strengths, skills, readily available resources, and coping tools; a technique I try to utilize in myself. I am fond of this therapy because change is a constantly evolving concept that should always be considered within one’s reach. Those who seek help inherently want change and clients are experts of the change they are seeking. My approach utilizes a steady source of positive motivation rooted in highly organized planning tailored to my client’s specific needs. I have over 20 years of experience working with individuals and couples ranging in ages from 6-65. In the last 10 years, I have narrowed down my therapeutic style to match my own personality while leaving the door open to additional honing which my education and work experiences consistently provide opportunities for.

Connie does an excellent job of helping me come up with short- and long-term plans to address my issues/concerns. It’s refreshing to have someone not only listen, but actively work with you towards your goals.

I've got nothing but great things to say about Connie.
I came to her after struggling for years with, what I would come to find out, a food addiction. Connie helped me frame my thoughts in a correlative way to that of addiction and helped provide me with the emotional tools and support to be able to work through that. This included mindfulness strategies, grounding techniques, and other types of support.
Additionally, she helped me work through some pretty severe death anxiety and allowed me the opportunity to express my concerns and then would ask probing questions that encouraged me to think a little deeper about why this was occurring. From there, she provided strategies that allowed me to frame what I was feeling in a different way, which made coping with this a lot easier.
Overall, Connie takes the approach of simply listening and then encouraging the dialog to continue. There were many moments of "aha!" which would completely shift how I would think about something. Most importantly, she made me feel as though, regardless of how I was feeling, this was all a very normal part of human existence, and that went a long way toward helping me feel more "human" and less alone in whatever struggle I was facing.
This was my first experience with therapy and in a lot of ways I regret not doing this sooner. I'm finally at a point where I feel like I have better control over my emotions and less like I'm simply along for the ride. I have Connie to thank for helping me get there, and I'll forever be grateful to her.

Connie has been so wonderful and she really, truly listens to you. She helps you realize that you have a lot of tools, and then helps supplement those tools. She is a wonderful support and so easy to talk to. She summaries the sessions In your words, which allows you to just talk and get those feelings out. I highly recommend Connie.
