Connie King, LMHC
About me
I am a trauma-focused therapist with extensive training and experience treating PTSD, anxiety, depression, helping formerly incarcerated persons adjust to society, women's issues, conflict resolution, and couples. I work from the past to the present. This method helps to find out why and how events from the past affect your today. If past experiences do not enhance, encourage or lift you, leave them on the conveyor belt of life. It is baggage.
I like that I can provide therapy to those who would generally not seek help. The stigma attached can be a deterrent to good mental wellness as well as cultural conditioning, tradition, and limited access. It is important that the therapist understand the cultural language being spoken even before a word is uttered. When you feel understood, you feel empowered. I offer a safe space without judgment. Welcome to my place!
My counseling style is that of a teacher. I am empathetic and acknowledge emotional pain, but I will challenge you to push towards your open door of healing. I provide the tools, but you are the healer.

Connie is soft-spoken with great wisdom and advice to help build a better life. She is great at listening, gives you active things to do when not in session to keep the mind strong, and gets down to the root of the trama. Highly recommend

Connie is such a kind soul. She is really great at her job, but it’s more than that. She really listens to you and helps you empower yourself to be the best you can be. She is great at guiding you towards your truth and living that. She has helped me to be able to motivate myself to prioritize my mental health. I also love that she is so easy to talk to. She really listens to what I’m saying and offers advice in a way that isn’t lecturing or unwarranted. She makes me feel seen and heard and I’ve needed this for a long time. I’ve been fortunate to have been paired with her. She is a gem!
