About me

I work to empower individuals and couples towards being authentic whole beings. I use a strengths based approach to help find the silver lining. Research has shown that physical mental emotional and spiritual well-being all play equally significant roles and our livelihood. Therefore I have made the holistic approach my central modality when it comes to my therapy.
I have worked with couples and individuals at a holistic Counseling Center in Oakland California and I currently work with individuals in a community-based setting who have severe persistent mental illness such as bipolar disorder schizophrenia depression and PTSD. I have 6 years of experience with homeless populations which include people dealing with co-occurring disorders, those who are in their teens, the veterans and the elderly. This experience has allowed me to gain insight into trauma and extreme stress and how to assist with resources and develop problem solving skills. I have received extensive training and experience with DBT, CBT, harm reduction motivational interviewing communication skills and trauma-informed care.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and I received my psychology degree from Sonoma State University. I received my master's degree from John F Kennedy University. My personal hobbies include interest in nature based practices martial arts nutrition and exercise. I currently work for the state hospital for the forensic population.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Constance Bravos. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

She validates my thoughts and feelings before challenging those thoughts and feelings that might not be helping me with overcoming stress and my anxiety. Even though some of my thoughts and feelings may be doing me more harm than good, it's been important to hear that they are still very "real" to me. I also appreciate the practical steps given to overcome stress and my anxiety.

She is an excellent therapist that really has her clients best interest in mind and really makes them feel affirmed and validated in their emotions. That can be really helpful especially when starting a new therapy session after a few years. Really thankful I have met her and get to have her moving forward as my therapist
