I have been a school counselor for 28 years in both elementary and middle school settings. I have been in private practice and I taught classes for the University of Phoenix for 10 years. My approach to counseling is eclectic and I believe it is essential that we work together to promote change. I will work with you to help you identify issues and set goals. I use a variety of techniques and you will often have an assignment or an activity to complete between sessions. I love working with adults, adolescents, and children. I volunteer with several organizations and facilitate grief groups for adolescents and their parents.
I received my Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University and my BBA in Marketing, M.Ed. in Community Counseling and Ed.S. in School Counseling are all from the University of West Georgia. I am married to my best friend from high school and together we have a blended family. His son was two when we married, and we have a daughter together. Every person and every situation is different and unique and I approach each client with that in mind. I feel like I can express my real concerns with my therapist and I feel like I’ve developed a real working relationship with Dr. C. I know that I’ve made some real progress and I’m grateful for the guidance I’ve received. All aspects of my life have grown exponentially and I think seeing Dr. C ended up being an investment in myself. If I had to do it all over again, I would.
