Courtney Kozarian, LMSW
About me
My name is Courtney and I am a Licensed Clinical Therapist in Michigan. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Western Michigan University and have been working in the mental health field for the past 8 years. I’ve worked in a variety of settings which has allowed me to refine my skills in a number of areas. Some of these include individual therapy, relationship therapy and family therapy. My particular experiences lie in working with individuals experiencing Depression, Anxiety, Life Transitions, Substance Abuse/Dependence, Psychosis and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. As a mom to two young children, I am also passionate about working with individuals experiencing Postpartum Depression and Postpartum Anxiety.
My approach to treatment is client centered; you are the expert of you. I believe every person has a unique story, influenced by all of the situations and life experiences leading up to this moment. My goal as a therapist is to build a warm and trusting relationship with you in order to support and encourage your personal growth and change. Therapy shouldn’t have a ‘one size fits all’ approach and I love working closely with my clients to find the approach which will work best for them. I am trained and experienced in providing Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first step towards change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you! I am available for chat, email and video/phone sessions. I typically check messages daily in the mornings, mid-day and again in the evenings.

Courtney has been a transformative therapist for me. She is an excellent listener and question asker. Her therapeutic approach has helped me achieve a better, more secure sense of self, something I hadn't really been able to make progress on until working with her. I will be forever grateful for her help.

Courtney is the first therapist to make me feel truly understood. Talking with her feels like a conversation with a friend who isn't afraid to call me out or ask hard questions. Her advice has been extremely helpful in my mental health journey.
