Cynia Black, LCSW
About me
I am Cynia R. Black: daughter, sister, friend, and spirited clinical therapist.
My goal is to support individuals , couples and families through life's difficult moments. Over the last 7 years, I have gained most of my experience working in the intensive in-home and outpatient mental health setting as a Family Consultant with youth ages birth to 12 years old, and a Family Therapist with families of youth ages 10 to 17 years old. With this work, I have developed a strong passion for working alongside young adults on a very integral part of their journey- transitioning from adolescence to adulthood. I have observed that oftentimes adolescents have been perceived by society as being "difficult" and "incapable" of change rather than seeing them as people who are trying to adapt to a transition in which they feel like they have no control.
As a therapist, I am committed to empowering and supporting my clients by increasing resiliency, and positive well being, and helping to develop sustainable coping strategies. I am looking forward to doing this work and continuing this journey together with you!
