Dr. Cynthia Baker, LCSW, LICSW
About me
I have 21 years experience providing evidenced based therapy to young and older adult clients. I am a trained Clinical Social Worker coming from private practice, college mental health and geriatric behavioral health background who will listen with acceptance and encouragement. I primarily work with new clients experiencing anxiety or depression related symptoms, going through life changes/motivation work, grief and loss, and accept clients with chronic mental health backgrounds such as bipolar and other chronic mental health conditions. I provide evidenced based therapies and am eclectic, using strategies from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Validation Therapy, and some Dialectical Behavior Therapy, to name a few.
We begin the therapy relationship where the client is (where you are) and establish a plan that is comfortable for you. I genuinely like people. I have a heart for listening and exploring thoughts and feelings about your life and events. I do like to make our therapy actionable--- and I want to help you find clarity, establish therapy goals, and move towards healthy actionable coping/change.
Together, we find strategies that can improve internal acceptance, healthy coping, and ultimately making personal, relationship, environmental changes. I look forward to working together!

Dr. Baker made me feel very comfortable with talking to her. This is my first time doing therapy and I was so glad that she made me feel like it was okay to open up about my situation.
