Cynthia Jenkins, LMHP
About me
I am a licensed mental health practitioner with over 30 years of experience counseling in various settings such as low-income communities and in a university counseling center. I have taught psychology at various universities and am currently an adjunct professor of psychology. I train post-graduate students in aspects of psychology that they will need to know to pass their board exams in medicine and dentistry. I hold a Ph.D. in Social Psychology through which I've explored conflicts (social, ethnic, political...) in various countries. I was also a Licenced Massage Therapist for over 30 years.
I love to travel, interact with people from various cultural and spiritual perspectives to understand them and hone my understanding of myself in relation to others.
I come from a very eclectic family background via racial, religious, educational, social, judicial, political and sexual orientations. This being said, I am thus eclectic in my approach to counseling. I welcome clients where they are at and strive to explore where they are willing to go mentally, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually to feel better and to achieve their dreams. Also, I have to add, I adore the outdoors and have been a proponent of the environment since I was a child. I still love to play in the rain.

At first I was nervous to start talking to anyone about the inner-workings of ‘me’, but Cynthia eased that fear right away. I was about 5 minutes into my first session when I realized that she is amazing, she can help me; and she is a caring, helpful, experienced, and wonderful human. It feels more like speaking to an old friend, that just so happens to make me think about myself and my life in a different way. She helps me dive into my feelings and thoughts. She cares about me, but also what’s important to me and my overall health. I’ve only just begun with Cynthia, but I’m very excited to see my progress!

Cynthia has been a godsend. I haven’t had an outlet to express everything in my life for a long time and I'm glad I was put with her! She has made me feel incredibly comfortable and safe with my feelings. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Ms. Cynthia Jenkins is breath of fresh air. She listens, she interprets the information, and quality advice about the situation. Very mother-esque

I've been talking with Cynthia for about a month now. I really connect with her and can hold fluid conversations that always seem to fly by. She takes a different approach than I am used to, and I really appreciate it.
