About me

I am dually certified as a mental health (LPC) and substance abuse counselor (SAC) and have been working in the field for six years. I began working in inpatient treatment working with addiction and mental health with adults over the age of 18. I am currently working in a methadone clinic with individuals suffering from opiate addictions and even though we do not specialize in addiction I am given those who have been diagnosed with mental health issues as well. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including bipolar, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, parenting issues, and ADHD. I have also helped those who have experienced physical trauma and emotional abuse.
My therapy style is warm and interactive, I believe in treating everyone with utmost respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach to treatment combines mindfulness, motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT, person centered, and solution focused therapies. I will tailor your treatment plan to meet your specific and unique needs.
I look forward to working with you!

Darlene is a phenomenal therapist. She understands me, validates me when I’m right and tells me when I’m wrong. She’s an expert in so many areas and is REAL Pearson with her own real problems, which makes her so relatable and trustworthy. I’ve been seeing her for over a year which has resulted in the best of days (short sessions) and my worst of days (sessions that have run much longer than planned), and she has always left me feeling better than I did prior to our call, and she has never once cut our session short, she truly cares! If you are looking for someone that specializes in family and addiction, choose Darlene, you won’t be disappointed.

Darlene is incredibly good at listening and understanding what I’m really trying to say, sometimes better than I understand myself. She has great intuition and truly wants to help.

Darlene is so kind and understanding. You never feel judged and she explains so well that your fears don’t have to be your reality.
