David Powell, LCSW
About me
Navigating today's complicated world can be incredibly difficult... Romantic relationships, family, job, finances, health, general stress... And who can we talk to when we need to confide our deepest challenges? Who do we turn to when we've tried everything we can think of and finally realize we need some help?
Choose a therapist who gets real results! Unlike most of my colleagues who mainly utilize Psychoanalytic and Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT) therapies, my practice also uses Solution-Focused and Motivational-Enhancement approaches. I've extensive experience successfully counseling clients through relationship issues, anxiety, depression, substance use (including food/weight gain), confidence and self-esteem, sexual and performance issues, grief/loss and trauma, as well as other more serious psychological challenges... As a generalist I will help you face any and all obstacles that have stood in the way of your becoming the best you that you can be.
Whether this is your first time seeking help or if you've not gotten the results you hoped for from therapy in the past, together we will take a fresh new approach, make quick progress, and then support those gains as you move forward... Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed, not endured. You deserve some inner peace, so let's get you on the road towards a fresh start!

Dave is down to earth, very knowledgeable, very relatable, and gives excellent counsel. He's in this to help people and he helped me tremendously. I spent about a year in counseling with him and it was the right decision. Thank you for everything Dave.

They say the best things go a long way in small doses. After only one session with Dave, I knew he was "my" therapist. I've spent years in therapy. Being a bipolar person that's not abnormal. I keep a tight schedule with my therapists, and until I found Dave, I'd had little relief from counseling. Now, just months in, I have the best grasp on myself that I've ever had. Give him a try--this fishing boat captain of a therapist, this man of the untoward, this man of unashamed intellect.

He is a great therapist with a lot of experience with a variety of situations. He is knowledgeable and very friendly. He doesn't sugar coat anything and tells you the truth. He gets right to the point.
