I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Master’s Degree in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. I provide individual therapy to adults and adolescents, as well as couples and family therapy.
My practice is a general outpatient practice, best suited for those who desire improvement in their love life, family life, work life, or in their physical health and wellness. My approach emphasizes the importance of practicing new behaviors outside of the therapy.
One practice that has been shown to be helpful, and which in many ways provides a groundwork for psychotherapy, is the practice of mindfulness.
Ultimately, my mission as a therapist is to help you live a better, more fulfilling life.

David is exceptional at helping me navigate my stressors and see what choices I have in black and white. As somebody with a variable, packed schedule a planner can prove inadequate when I hit a roadblock in some area of my life that requires tactful decision making. David helps me weigh all my options objectively so that I can act on my best interests.

David really pays attention to what I'm saying and always gives very creative feedback. He is extremely perceptive helps me put things in context with probing (not leading) questions. I feel like he is genuinely invested in my improvement and is very patient with me when I am struggling. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

David has a very proactive approach to therapy. Instead of passively listening, he actively reframes and challenges you to consider other perspectives. He truly has a in depth insight and wisdom in what he says. I can confidently say that for me, the sessions provided a clarity that I was severely lacking prior to starting working with him.

Being inconsistent and flighty is such a hard and sensitive thing for me that when I start to fail or misstep I will often completely run away from the relationship or situation I was participating in, just to save face. I felt safe enough to come back to David, even after I disappeared. It sounds so simple, but that means something. To be able to fail, and still come back.

I worked with David for a year, and I am so grateful I did. He is passionate, caring, and helpful. I learned so much about myself and how to have a better perspective. I had an array of issues coming into therapy and rather than trying to solve them, he showed me how to manage them in a healthy way. Everything I learned, I will apply to situations throughout the rest of my life. Truly thankful!

David has truly helped me change the way I think about life and bring meaning into it. He is very good at analyzing our conversations and gently showing me the gaps in my reasoning or assumptions I make that drive my behavior. Working as an investment banker makes my days very stressful, but David has helped me take a step back and remind myself to "be here now" and pause to take moments of peace before diving back into the grind. Thank you David for everything; truly look forward to our enlightening discussions every week.

David was my first introduction to therapy. I was so grateful to receive his care. I found his listening to be insightful, and no nonsense. David gave me an encouraging atmosphere to look clearly and soberly at the challenges I felt in my life and helped me to be more specific and practical in my evaluations.
I would highly recommend David, especially if you have an interest in martial arts or mindfulness.

Dr. Schwartz has a awesome way of processing information and relaying it back. Dr. Schwartz professionalism never comes into question; in fact I would say he has a most surgical approach at maintaining professionalism while helping a client weed out issues. Dr. Schwartz clearly shows concern/care whenever engaged in a session w/client. Also it’s clear that the care he displays w/clients has been curated with much time, diligence, and passion for this line of work. Dr. Schwartz work honestly is served no justice w/words alone only. Truly one of those instances you need to see for yourself. Hopefully this will help choosing a therapist that suits you; good luck!

I’ve been with David for a few weeks now, and he has been entirely helpful in many ways; he’s offered me many ways to deal with issues that I’m having as well as helps me to identify where those same problems come from. He’s a strong listener and provides important and helpful input relative to whatever we’re discussing in each session. No matter the topic, he is very open and I never feel ashamed to bring up any of my issues that I’m dealing with, and he is always eager to help. Very thankful to have someone like David here to talk to.
