David Woodrum, LCSW
About me
I am licensed in Virginia, Colorado, Texas, and Nevada with over 20 years of combined professional experience in the mental health field (6 years of providing therapy). I have experience in a number of areas, and I'm focused on helping individuals with stress and anxiety, parenting issues, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, & coping with life changes. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!
Need an after hours therapist? I have live session availability after 6pm EST with some available time on weekends and very early mornings (6am to 8am). I recognize the needs of full time folks who struggle with finding someone outside of the normal 9 to 5 hours.

David has been a fantastic therapist for me. It's hard for me to open up, and sometimes my brain works through that by doing what likely appears to be pointless conversation or rambling, but that's how my brain has to dance around the issue to get to it in a way that I'm comfortable with. He's also been incredibly patient during my periods of withdrawal. If I share a journal entry I can tell he reads them thoroughly (and they're lengthy lol), doesn't just skim for the main points. He also replies to messages in an impressively fast time frame. I appreciate his ability to recognize and then adapt to the needs of his patient. 10/10, will definitely trauma dump on him again

He has been very nice and listened and responds back with very good logic.

I like David's method of therapy. I like the back and forth style of conversation where he doesn't repeat everything I say back. It feels more like a conversation with a friend

David listens and gives constructive feedback, but is also extremely easy to communicate with
And open to. He creates a comfortable environment and a two-way dialogue that has been really beneficial to me.
