Debbie Haworth, BACP
About me
I am a Counsellor Psychotherapist offering an integrative person-centred approach to therapy. I have been a counsellor for over 3 years, working with the NHS, Lancashire Women, schools and colleges across the county. I came to be a counsellor later in life after a successful career in account management, for some time I had yearned for a career that would help people, this brought me to counselling and psychotherapy. I gained my Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy in the summer of 2018. Since then, I have had the privilege to work with various clients young and old who have all brought their own uniqueness to our sessions.
Embracing people for who they are, without judgment, is a quality that all counsellors must uphold, I have experience in working with clients of a variety of ages, backgrounds and ethnicities, as well as a broad range of difficulties.
Throughout our lives, we are faced with challenges, suffer from traumas, bereavements and much more leading to depression and various anxiety symptoms.
As the saying goes a problem shared is a problem halved. Working with a counsellor enables you to look at your issues in a supportive and non-judgemental environment. I support and enable my clients to see the full picture of what is happening in their lives.
No matter how big or small your problem may feel counselling can enable you to look at yourself and your life and support you unconditionally in finding the right path for you. Sometimes you need to speak to someone who isn't a friend or family member, someone you can offload to without feeling you are burdening them.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)and I work in accordance with their Ethical Framework.
My focus is to always be warm, genuine and welcoming.

Whilst I’ve only had a couple sessions with Debbie to date, she has made me feel very comfortable discussing sensitive subjects dealing with my mental health. Debbie provides constructive advice on coping mechanisms and has been a welcoming source of support.

First time going to therapy and I was very nervous initially. Debbie was very easy to talk to and is very attentive and caring in the advice she gives. I strongly recommend her to anyone who is considering therapy!

I tried many other therapists before I found Debbie. She is a fantastic, empathetic, knowledgable human being. If you’re the type of person who is willing to really hold a mirror up to yourself and get deep and do the work, Debbie is the one. She really listens, and comes with brilliant wise and thought-through advice and wisdom.

I have worked with Deb for almost one year now and what a time that has been.
From day one Deb has provided so much empathy, understanding, validation and has really helped me come out the other side much stronger than I was when I started.
Deb has a natural ability to make you feel at ease, without any judgement. She creates a safe place where you always feel welcomed.
She has taught me a great amount and continues to be a big part of my healing journey . For that I will be forever grateful.
