About me

I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Master's degree in Social Work. I am an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I work with clients of all ages, and using a warm, safe environment, assists my clients to identify their strengths, goals, and abilities to cope with and overcome their symptoms and discomforts.

I have worked with a diverse range of populations in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, substance abuse and mental health agencies. My experience has been working with children and adolescent Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services and adults in individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. Through this work, I became well-versed in high risk assessments including the threshold for higher levels of care, and have experience with anxiety, depression, self-injurious behavior, grief, substance use disorders, and social and familial conflict. In addition to counseling, I have been an adjunct professor for over 10 years and teach introductory courses to beginner social work students.

I look forward to navigating life transitions as well as the overall quest for clarity and self-awareness. I specialize in helping clients cope with and overcome symptoms that are interrupting their daily lives. I utilize a strengths-based and person-centered approach to treatment recognizing that each individual has resources within themselves which, when fostered, will help them meet their treatment goals. I believe in the importance of a therapeutic relationship and work closely with my clients to help them feel empowered to make changes in their lives.

My hope is to provide the safety and insight you need to identify subversive patterns of thought and behavior and move toward a more functional, confident approach to life.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Denise DeBrady. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I have been having a weekly session with Denise for just over 2 years now. Where I was before I started therapy with her to where I am now, I feel like a completely different person in all aspects of my life. I am so thankful she has given me the time and guidance that I need to heal from a royally messed up life. I would recommend her to anyone in need of help.

She is a great listener and very helpful in making you feel comfortable to open up she lets you come to your conclusion and helps guide you along but ultimately doesn’t it make you feel judged and does not tell you what to do. She is very sweet and kind he has a lot of patience to help you through learning a lesson even if it takes you 1 million times to go through it.
