Desiree Gaines, LCSW
About me
Hi! Thank you for reaching out for support. I am proud of you for making this step!
My name is Desiree Gaines and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Montana. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California. I majored in Mental Health and minored in Military Social Work. Between internships and work experience I have worked in many different settings. I have worked with individuals and families who have a variety of personal issues such as depression/anxiety, stress, family problems, trauma/abuse, combat-related trauma, military and family life stressors, and eating disorders. My experience as a clinician in these different settings has taught me that the connection made between therapist and client is of the utmost importance. I truly believe that you are the holder of your greatest experiences and accomplishments and through the structured, consistent, nonjudgemental support of another person, you will be able to change your personal experiences and grow through your challenges.
I also have the ability to offer faith-based counseling, if you are wanting to incorporate your spiritual beliefs into your healing and recovery process. This is a treatment option that is available upon request and not a standard for all treatment. If you would like a faith-based approach incorporated we will discuss how you would like it to be included in your sessions.
You are welcome to message me anytime through BetterHelp. I look forward to meeting you and working with you.

Desiree is the best therapist I have had, and I have seen a few throughout my life. I have been working with her for a year and a half, and from where I started to where I am is a complete 180. She has supported me through one of the most challenging times of my life and has helped me raise my self esteem, unpack trauma, learn communication skills as well as coping skills. I’m just so grateful to work with her!

I've been working with Desiree for almost a year now and she has been incredibly helpful. I started seeing her in a time of intense anxiety, panic attacks and depression. She has worked with me to find practical tools that have helped manage my anxiety and get me back to a stable place. She's helped me through tough times and helped me face some fears I never thought I would. I am so thankful that I found her.

Desiree is a lovely counselor and truly listens to what her clients have to say and what they struggle with. She provides thoughtful advice and methods of bettering oneself in a way that does not feel forced and everything can be done at your own pace. She's great, hands down.
