About me

Hello, my name is Diana Lingren and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 35 years of clinical experience working with children and families in group, individual, and family therapy. I have focused on the areas of trauma/abuse, depression, PTSD, anxiety, substance abuse, dysfunctional families, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Attachment, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Severely Emotionally Disturbed children. Also, I have been a Registered Play Therapist for 24 years and have been trained in EMDR.

My therapeutic philosophy begins with the belief that all people strive for healing and wholeness. We each have a place of inner wisdom that can guide us toward the healing we need. My job is to help you learn to listen to your inner wisdom and find that path. We will create a safe place where you can explore the experiences and emotions needed to move you forward. When working with you, I will bring a strengths-based approach that encompasses both the mind and body. I may use Mindfulness, Creative Arts, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and CBT techniques to help you discover your strengths, increase your awareness, and maintain your progress. I will go with you on this journey to find the answers within you. There is a reason you have come here. You are ready!

Diana Lingren is an excellent therapist and for the first time in my life I believe the dis-ease I have lived with most of my life will actually be resolved. I have had therapy three other times in my life and Diana gets it. Highly recommended.

I have just started my journey… and have a long way to go. I feel heard and hopeful. And have already been given tools to help me navigate how my trauma is impacting my life daily. Looking forward to my sessions, learning and growing in a positive direction.

Diana not only listens and gives me feedback but also helps set goals and holds me accountable for what I say I want to work on in therapy. She isn't afraid to tell me hard truths and does so in a way that is gentle but also firm and supports me in processing as I learn more about myself. I can count on her to give our sessions direction and respect my time so that I am not just rambling on about a not important tangent (which is what I asked her to do... in the past I would get off track for a full session sometimes). She really shows that she cares and takes my feedback for her seriously.

Diane really listens to me. I like that she re-captures what I’m saying to make sure she is hearing exactly what I’m trying to say…. Which is not always easy. She offers a lot of empathy and different modalities and skills to help me. Highly recommend Diane!
