Donny Simpson, LMFT
About me
My name is Donny Simpson. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I graduated with a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Grand Canyon University in 2012 and Bachelor's Degree in Human Services from Cal State Fullerton. I was most recently a Child Welfare Social Worker and continue to manage Social Workers in Children and Family Services.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and I have worked with clients with a broad range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship/marital and family problems, work-related stress and issues unique to the LGBT community. I also specialize in working with families involved in the Child Welfare system including reunification and/or adoption. It is my priority to maintain a judgment-free space, a space that is challenging but comforting, and a process that is enlightening as well as retrospective.
My approach to therapy is laidback and conversational while providing goal-directed treatment using a combination of Cognitive and Solution Focused Therapy. I take a collaborative and supportive stance in my approach to therapy and I have been told that I am comfortable to be with and easy to talk to. All treatment is planned with the goal in mind and progress is made toward reaching that goal.
I look forward to working with you!

Donny is simply amazing. From our initial session I instantly knew he was the right therapist for me. Not only did I feel safe, but I also felt the work starting from the beginning . I love that he not only listens, but also challenges me to do the work that I need to overcome obstacles. I would recommend Donny to anyone!

Donny Simpson’s approach to therapy is patient yet focused, endearing, yet leading. Interacting with Donny feels more like a conversation versus the therapist and client scenario. He listens and approaches scenarios in a very thought-provoking manner, allowing space for self reflection in the moment. He creates scenarios, which allows for self discovery, and “Aha” moments. He comes highly recommended.
