About me

I am a licensed mental health counselor, in the State of Washington for over 20 years. I am trained in multiple modalities: cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivation interviewing, client-centered therapy, rational-emotive therapy and hypnotherapy. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, couple's counseling, family therapy. I specialize in working with multicultural individuals and blended families. I am a minority mental health specialist for African Americans. I have experience working with military individuals.

My style of interaction emphasizes the importance of unconditional positive regard. I promote a client's growth, healing and self-actualization. I treat all clients with dignity and respect, recognizing that therapy is a unique experience for each client. I tailor my approach to the client's strengths and their desire for specific behavioral change.

Counseling is a special journey for each person. It takes courage and motivation to seek help, working with someone you have never met before. I encourage the client to openly discuss their concerns/reflection throughout the counseling process, so that his/her journey is a good experience. I recognize that it is an honor to help clients explore change in their live, at their pace.

I look forward to helping you help yourself.

Edwin has been very helpful, non judgemental and has taught me to not be so hard on myself. He has taught me how to communicate so points are getting across without feeling attacked or getting defensive. Highly recommend
