About me

My name is Elaine and I am a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor who draws from a range of counselling techniques and traditions in order to ensure that my clients benefit from an approach that is designed to meet their individual needs.

I am fully insured and as a member of the BACP, I abide by its code of ethics. If you are using my service for the first time you can expect to find a confidential, safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore any thoughts or feelings that have been causing you emotional pain, confusion or difficulty.

I work closely with each of my clients and will support them in the task of identifying areas of their lives that they would like to change. Together we then explore options and choices. I support my clients to formulate goals and decide on a therapeutic plan to guide them on their journey to greater wellbeing. I will walk alongside you through your anxiety, depression or low moods; together we will explore the cause and get to the root of the problem.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT BEING A COUNSELLOR
My job as a Counsellor has afforded me the honour and privilege to meet and help so many interesting and wonderful people. Over the years I have seen so many people transform themselves and their lives through self-discovery. To be part of that transformation is priceless to say the least. The work we will do in therapy will not be easy, we will cry, we will laugh and there will be discomfort, but through the discomfort will come growth and change

Approaches
My counselling approach is mainly influenced by the following:

Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychoanalysis, Solution Focused Approaches, Gestalt, Creative Therapy and Transactional Analysis

Elaine is patient, open and caring. I have confidence in her counselling skills and feel safe during our sessions. She gives me enough space to explore my issues without interrupting or rushing anything. I really enjoy my counselling process because of her. Thank you so much for matching me with Elaine!

Great listener, has a way of taking the magnifying glass away from my issues making them less insurmountable. Encouraging and helps draw my focus back to what I need to heal to move forward, thus, equipping me with the necessary tools to do so

In regards to Elaine we’re still getting to know each other but first impressions is she has a calming voice and presence, and she’s happy to explain things I may not understand.
It’s nice to talk to someone who’s not connected to your life and Elaine does this well.

Elaine identified my root causes of trauma and she helped to me to identify them, how it has affected my growing up . She worked together with me to dealing my inner childhood that been stuck for more than thirty years. I look forward to having session as it feels like I can express myself freely without getting judged.
