Elsie Johnson, LPC
About me
When I was training for this profession, a professor told me that "people only change when the pain of changing is less than the pain of staying the same." That quote has always stuck with me as a constant reminder of what a big step it is to ask for help. I am glad you are here.
We all have stories. They govern our lives, shape our being, cause tremendous challenge, and become catalysts for growth. I have spent my time answering the call to meet people at critical points in their lives and walk with them through difficulty. I use a combination of solution-focused and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to help people discover what works best for them. I believe in the power of the relationship between a therapist and a client. I believe in challenge and support. I believe in meeting people with compassion. I believe in humor as a therapeutic tool. I believe in harnessing your strengths to help you achieve your goals and I would love to help you do just that.
That's my story. What's yours?

Elsie is very kind and professional. She listens to me and offers different viewpoints to help me see things in a more objective light. I feel I can be myself with Elsie and I don't have to worry about being judged. I've been working with Elsie every since I've been with Better help. Which is almost a year.
