About me

Hello, I am a licensed professional counselor licensed in the state of Texas. I have a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry that I earned at the University of Texas-Austin in 1992. I decided later in life to go back to school and become a counselor. By then, I had a husband and family, so I decided to attend an online program at Liberty University in Virginia. I graduated in December 2012, and began my internship working in an outpatient setting helping people with mental health disorders, including substance abuse, depression, anxiety, anger, domestic violence, and sexual abuse. I became fully licensed in October 2015, and continued working in that setting until February 2019, when I began working as an independent provider. I have experience with individuals of all ages, couples, and families; however, I am currently working with adults individually. My approach is person-centered and I use cognitive-behavioral therapy or eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients.

I enjoy helping and look forward to helping you in your journey to being the best version of yourself.

Elvira has been a wonderful help and support to me. She has helped me “connect the dots” and start to process some complex things. I am especially grateful that she shares my beliefs. She is kind and patient and has a great deal of wisdom and encouragement to share. Thank you, Elvira.

She is amazing. She really made me realize things in my life that I knew but had trouble accepting.
