Emberlene "Ember" Cossette, LICSW
About me
Emberlene Cossette is a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) in the state of Washington. She has worked in the mental health field for over 10 years providing mental and behavioral health treatment. Emberlene holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Washington, Tacoma. She graduated from Saint Martin’s University with honors and earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a focus on ethics and war trauma. Her time as a social worker led her to work with immigrants, detainees, individuals with disabilities, and people of diverse ages, genders, ethnicities, and cultures.
She believes that mental health, like physical health, is a right rather than a privilege and recognizes the importance of living a life of quality.
"I practice with the belief that despite our perception of aloneness, the cosmos is inherent in all humans. Our being lies not only within ourselves but in others and the natural world. Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, states it more eloquently. "
‘The atoms of our bodies are traceable to stars that … exploded these enriched ingredients across our galaxy…. For this reason, we are biologically connected to every other living thing in the world. And we are atomically connected to all atoms in the universe. We are not figuratively, but literally stardust.'

I’ve had the privilege of working with Ember for the past month, and I’m incredibly grateful for her support. She listens with a nonjudgmental and professional approach, making me feel heard and understood. Her ability to balance empathy with practical guidance has been invaluable in helping me navigate my challenges. Thanks to her, I now feel confident in the solutions we’ve developed together and equipped to handle life’s difficulties. While I’ve decided to end our sessions because I’ve reached a good place, I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to her again in the future. I highly recommend Ember to anyone seeking compassionate and effective therapy.

Ember is great at letting me guide our sessions and asking great questions at the right time. I value that she is works to understand topics that she doesn't necessarily specialize in and is honest about her knowledge. In the areas she does specialize in she shows great knowledge and depth. She is easy to talk to and open up with and had never made me feel self conscious about myself. Highly recommend!
