About me

Thank you for visiting my site and congratulations on considering counseling! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 5 years of experience working with adults and older adults in multiple capacities. I have a Bachelor's degree in psychology, a graduate certificate in dementia/gerontology, and a Master's in Social Work with emphasis on clinical practice. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, end of life, adjustment, family dynamics, medical complexities, with a special focus in older adult issues including caregiving and dementia. I am passionate about helping people deal with the many transitions, expected and unexpected, that we live through.

My counseling style is warm, interactive, laid-back, collaborative, and geared toward your needs. I full heartedly believe when someone is ready, counseling is the stepping stone to the other side. I am ready when you are! I consider the client/therapist relationship to be crucial and I truly care about your wellbeing. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, compassion, and empowering you to set goals you see as most important since YOU are the expert in your life. My approach combines solution focused, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavior therapy counseling styles. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and encourage you and provide practical coping techniques to navigate life along the way.

I look forward to working with you!

Emily really listens to what your saying and to understand fully, she may ask questions before responding to what I had said and I enjoy that.

Emily is the best!!! Sometimes I think of where I would be without Emily, and it is NOT a good place.

Emily brings such positive energy to sessions! We can really identify with each other, and she meets me where I am in my pursuit of therapy goals. I feel like I am talking with a good friend during sessions.

I started therapy a year ago with Emily and she has by far exceeded any expectations I could have had. A great listener, holds me accountable and challenges me to think differently about myself. I was in such a tough place this time last year and the progress made has just been incredible. Very grateful to have her on this journey of self-care.
