About me
Wondering if am a good fit for you. Here is a bit about me. I have worked with adults, children, adolescents, and families for more than 30 years. I am a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and have experienced the dynamics of a blended family, and adoption firsthand. I was raised as a middle son of 13 siblings. I have been married, devoiced, and remarried for 23 years, in a well-functioning interracial marriage. I am presently employed at Sunrise Children's Services and currently serve in the capacity of Treatment Director, with over 30 years of experience in Residential Child Care as well as experience with the SMI, Severely Mentally Ill Population. And also the owner and operator of The Maize Family Counseling Sevices, LLC. I am a person of faith who is open and affirming to all people. My work history as an LPCC includes issues such as parenting, ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Life Adjustment Issues, and Men's Transitional Life Issues. Most recently JSOC, Juvenile Sex Offending Counselor as of Jan 2021. With 11 years in professional practice as a graduate of Webster University. Primary modalities used in therapy are TF-CBT, CBT, MI, REBT, and DBT, and tend to act as a proponent of Gestalt and Existential theory. I am also, certified in EMDR. I truly believe that people have the power to live healthy and whole lives if they are willing to embrace change. I would like to be a part of your journey as we explore new possibilities togateher.
