My name is Erica (she/her) and I have always loved the idea of therapy and getting to be an individual who has the privilege of hearing and helping someone in a vulnerable position. Seeking out therapy can be one of the biggest challenges we face due to this vulnerability. Especially when we are trying to find someone we “click” with. Our goal will be to build our therapeutic relationship to the best of our abilities in order to facilitate the kinds of changes you want to see in your life. We can make it happen, with the right connection and the right amount of energy and effort put in, you totally and completely have the ability. You’ve already stepped at least once in the right direction by ending up here!
My approach is based in cognitive and behavioral processes with the person-centered atmosphere. You direct where you want us to go and I happily listen, assist, interpret, and suggest. I really enjoy looking at our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as parts of us that run the here and now; our automatic responses, the not-so-automatic responses, the sudden overwhelm of a feeling we can’t identify, the actions we take that we cannot break the habit of. I also love identifying what is actually working for us in a healthy way and giving ourselves a pat on the back for it!
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and have over 6 years of experience working with individuals as well as group therapy. I have experience working for non-profit agencies who bring in people from all walks of life with issues ranging from daily stressors to chronic disorders. I have worked with many individuals with mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, schizophrenia, as well as substance use issues.
My goal for you is to be functioning at your best capacity, whatever that means for you. We can figure it out together! We can explore your current lifestyle and stressors and see how we can adjust. We can also go back and discuss the past and how it may have affected you. Overall, we will set the most realistic goals we can and determine the best ways to get there. Erica Racinowski absolutely changed my life. I was so apprehensive about therapy and avoided it for as long as I could until eventually I knew it was my only option. I was struggling with anxiety attacks that were happening more frequently than ever. From the very first day I knew I found the right therapist. Erica helped me work through one of the darkest times in my life and did so by guiding me, not pushing or forcing me into anything too fast. She asked all the right questions and responded to me in honest ways which lead me to the right conclusions, or at least to the right path to work down. I was able to face things I hadn't emotionally unearthed with myself and slowly I started recognizing my progress. Erica validated me by encouraging me to continue through my personal work, specifically journaling in between our sessions. She helped me set boundaries and regulate my emotions, things I'd never learned to do properly. I could go on and on about how wonderful my experience was but instead I'll just recommend her to anyone that feels afraid or unsure about therapy. I promise you won't regret it, especially if you have Erica assisting you along your journey. The only reason I will no longer be working with her is because I have moved out of state, and it was truly one of the hardest goodbyes for me, because she has impacted me in such a profound way. Betterhelp and Erica helped me realize that my mental health is just as important as my physical health, and I will be continuing therapy from this point forward because of my incredible experience. Beyond grateful and again, highly recommend.

Having been a while since my last therapist / counselor, and it not haven't been the best experience; my new experience with my current counselor Erica has actually been really good even if it is still in the beginning stages of this counselor patient relationship. I've never been great with talking and really expressing things without feeling the need to shut down due to always feeling poked or made to feel awkward or pushed and for once I actually feel like it's safe and it's okay to talk to my counselor which it's a new experience but if it feels really good I'm actually very fortunate that Erica is my counselor and I feel very appreciative and willing to learn and am excited to continue this counselor patient Journey with her as long as I possibly can I think this is the best experience so far I've had with better help.

I was very skeptical of online therapy because I hadn’t worked with anyone I connected with. Then I started working with Erica and things have really turned around. She is kind and understanding while also keeping a realistic view on life. She doesn’t push worksheets or assign homework. She actually works with me during sessions to work through not only current issues but past events that could be the cause. After over a decade of therapy I have finally found someone who is helping me feel human again.
