Farzaneh Bascom, LMHC
About me
I am a licensed mental health counselor located in Washington with over 7 years of experience working as a therapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, mood disorder, relationship issues. I have extensive experience working with individuals diagnosed with PTSD, mostly due to childhood trauma and abuse.
As a counselor, I provide a peaceful and compassionate presence, while enthusiastically facilitating the discovery of inner wisdom and strength needed to move forward. My work is grounded in client-centered therapy and keen understanding of human relationships. Relationships connect us to ourselves and others, and the quality of these connections greatly impacts overall sense of well-being and ability to meet life’s challenges gracefully. I believe that we are most likely to consider change in life when we feel understood and supported and my goal is to provide that understanding and support. My own story has taught me the benefits of transparency, vulnerability, and safe place to explore and ask tough questions. I have extensive experience working with individual who, in a desperate attempt to gain control over their life and overwhelming emotions, often resort to behaviors which can actually make things worse. This often takes them even further from their life worth living. In my therapeutic work, I strive to make a therapeutic alliance with clients, and together we develop a treatment plan that meets their needs and where individuals with recovery as their goal make real changes with actual improvement that can be measured and monitored. With open/honest and direct communication, we work to identify and overcome barriers and improve their life one step at a time.
I look forward working with you.

The kindest most understanding professional I have ever met. I have tried therapy for years on and off. This is the first time I have felt seen by a therapist. She devotes so much time and energy into her clients. She makes me feel seen and cared for. She also makes me feel excited for my journey through therapy. 100% recommend!

Farzaneh just has the right answers… I mean, she just knows what I need and gives me helpful advice. She is very knowledgeable about her field. I feel that she really cares about what I am dealing with, which happens to be grief in my case… and I have depression too… anyways, I’m glad that I ended up with such a caring therapist.
