Gail Nelson, LPC, LCPC
About me
Hi,
Thank you for visiting my bio. I appreciate you taking the time to review my experience. I am a licensed clinical professional counselor with 20 years of counseling experience.
I am a graduate of Roosevelt University in Chicago and obtained my clinical license shortly thereafter. I have worked in community mental health for the majority of my career as it is a passion to help clients of all backgrounds. This has also provided me with extensive experience in several areas. I have trained staff, interns, and new graduates for the majority of my professional career.
I have a broad range of counseling and mental health experience in areas of individual, group, and family counseling. Additionally, my background includes training and leading a team of therapists and case managers, providing crisis support, and I have experience working with domestic violence/sexual assault victims. I have experience with chronic as well as a cute mental health disorders and meet each client where they are at, always keeping the clients' goals as a priority.
In addition to various therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused, I approach therapy with a humanistic approach and incorporate overall wellness health as a therapeutic tool. I believe in mind, body, and soul are interconnected. I am genuine and down to earth. I maintain a strong ability to work with diverse populations and develop rapport quickly and easily.
I hope that I can help you on your journey of wellness and look forward to providing the support you need. Thank you,
Gail

Gail is amazing, thoughtful, and honestly a god send. She has helped me through thick and thin with clarity and perspective. I always feel safe to bring anything to her, knowing she will work with me without judgement. Thank you so much for everything, Gail!

Absolutely wonderful.
Written on Jan 09, 2023 after therapy with Gail for 4 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, addictions, relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, grief, intimacy-related issues, self esteem, career difficulties, coping with life changes, coaching, and compassion fatigue
I love that Gail did not pressure me but gave me plenty of resources to help myself. I feel like that gave me the power to take charge of my life and work on wheat I needed at my own speed and to develop my own tools. As some one who is "not sick enough to be too bad" I had people who thought I was too sick too help myself and some people think I am not sick enough to need help. I appreciate how she handled my therapy and how she didn't push me.
