Dr. Geralyn Dexter, LMHC
About me
I have a Ph.D. in Psychology and am a licensed mental health counselor with 11 years of clinical experience. I've treated clients living with and navigating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety and mood disorders, substance use issues, stress management, self-harm, suicidal thoughts and behavior, coping with life changes, and career challenges. I've practiced in a variety of settings, including intensive outpatient, community-based and in-home, phone and text-based, and private practice. I am passionate about providing counseling services that equip others to live authentically and healthily.
My goal is to create a safe therapeutic space that will allow us to work together to meet your needs. A therapeutic relationship built on empathy and trust will allow us to connect, determine what's important to you, and where you'd like to see change and improvement in your life. I seek to honor the individual that you are while empowering you through my compassionate, collaborative, and warm counseling style. I aim to help you develop tools to support your well-being. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral, and mindfulness techniques.
I believe in your strength and ability to heal and transform your life. I look forward to working with you.
