About me

I’m a down to earth, understanding, empathetic and compassionate therapist with a holistic and integrative approach to therapy. I walk with you in connecting your past experiences with todays’ concerns and support you on the journey to feeling confident in managing and talking about your emotions, as well as understanding why and who you are today.
I combine psychotherapy, Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other approaches to ease the process and guide you towards making the decisions that you feel are right for you.

I have worked as in integrative Counselling Psychotherapist in the UK for over 6 years and have significant experience in helping clients with a wide range of concerns such as trauma, abuse, relationships, depression, anxiety, fostering, parenting, motivation, self-esteem, confidence... the list really goes on!

I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared. With me, you can feel accepted and valued for who you are without fear of being judged. With mutual trust and openness, you will know that you have not just been listened to, but also heard. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage so well done, and I am proud of you for getting started!

What do I love about counselling:
Apart from the obvious response of being able to help others on their journey through life, I most enjoy the moment a client makes the connection between a past experience and current behaviour. Such a game changer.
That said, what I love the most about counselling is the Pandoras Box it opens. As a client you may come to talk about one particular issue, but once that box opens..!

Other Interests outside Counselling:
I enjoy creative arts so in my spare time you will find me either painting, or morphing into my sofa watching a film.
I am keen on supporting my community and have sat on several boards including two schools, Rape Crisis, and a local community centre.
I was also a foster mother for around 10 years.

Qualifications:
- Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling
- Level 3 Certificate in Integrated Counselling

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Gwennie Lewis. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I’ve been seeing Gwen for over a year now, and I truly can’t say enough about what an incredible therapist she is. From the very beginning, she created a space where I felt completely safe, understood, and supported - even if I decided to go with someone else. She has this rare ability to see through me, not just the words I say, but what’s underneath them—and she gently challenges me in ways that make me grow as a person.

What makes Gwen so special is her warmth and compassion. She’s sweet and kind, but never in a surface-level way; she deeply cares and it shows. At the same time, she never hesitates to nudge me toward growth, yet she does it in such a gentle and natural way that I don’t even realize I’m being pushed until I look back and see how far I’ve come.

No matter what I bring into our sessions, I know she’s in my corner. She offers both insight and encouragement, meeting me exactly where I am while also helping me move forward. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist who is not only skilled but truly invested in their well-being - I've changed so much in the time I've been speaking to her, and it's been a life changing experience with her.

It's great to have a therapist that holds space for you without any judgement. With the right therapist, I believe it creates essential tools needed inside your life's tool belt. In a way I see Ms. Gwennie as this and as I'm navigating this new chapter, I feel greatly supported on my journey.
