Gwennie Lewis, NCPS
About me
I’m a down to earth, understanding, empathetic and compassionate therapist with a holistic and integrative approach to therapy. I walk with you in connecting your past experiences with todays’ concerns and support you on the journey to feeling confident in managing and talking about your emotions, as well as understanding why and who you are today.
I combine psychotherapy, Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other approaches to ease the process and guide you towards making the decisions that you feel are right for you.
I have worked as in integrative Counselling Psychotherapist in the UK for over 6 years and have significant experience in helping clients with a wide range of concerns such as trauma, abuse, relationships, depression, anxiety, fostering, parenting, motivation, self-esteem, confidence... the list really goes on!
I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared. With me, you can feel accepted and valued for who you are without fear of being judged. With mutual trust and openness, you will know that you have not just been listened to, but also heard. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage so well done, and I am proud of you for getting started!
What do I love about counselling:
Apart from the obvious response of being able to help others on their journey through life, I most enjoy the moment a client makes the connection between a past experience and current behaviour. Such a game changer.
That said, what I love the most about counselling is the Pandoras Box it opens. As a client you may come to talk about one particular issue, but once that box opens..!
Other Interests outside Counselling:
I enjoy creative arts so in my spare time you will find me either painting, or morphing into my sofa watching a film.
I am keen on supporting my community and have sat on several boards including two schools, Rape Crisis, and a local community centre.
I was also a foster mother for around 10 years.

I cannot express how much Gwen helped through a very tough time of my life.
She listened, she was kind and understanding, she gave advice, she challenged me but most of all she always championed me and I dont know if I would be on a better path like I am without her.
I can only recommend her as therapist, she is wonderful.
