Harriet Marritz, Psychologist
About me
Licensed in Pennsylvania, I have over 35 years experience in collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds and with a variety of issues. While my primary training and experience has been in solution-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, my approach to counseling is individualized, person-centered, and trauma-informed, depending on the needs of each person. I strive to create an accepting, supportive and nonjudgmental atmosphere. I have worked extensively with those experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, challenges around life transitions, grief, alcohol issues, and self-harming behaviors. While I take my work very seriously, I try not to take myself too seriously. Although I generally provide counseling in English, having grown up in a bilingual English-Spanish household, I do speak serviceable Spanish.
When not working, I enjoy being in nature, gardening, reading, and volunteering in my community around social justice issues.
