Heather Mangold, LPC
About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado with a degree in Marriage, Couples, and Family therapy from Capella University. I have over 10 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, gender identity, career challenges, OCD and ADHD. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
My counseling style is calm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic/holistic, solution-focused, mindfulness and Dialectical Behavior therapies. I also practice Emotionally focused Couples therapy and Gottman Method. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
My husband and I recently moved back to Iowa after living in Colorado for the past 9 years. We have 2 children and 3 dogs, a few cats, goats, chickens and ducks. We love the outdoors and try to spend as much time in it as we can. We enjoy hiking, camping, snowboarding, snowshoeing, having family bike rides, and just soaking up the fresh air, sights and sun! I also enjoy baking, photography, and learning new things.
It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Heather has been a great help and does a very good job on not only talking about basic problems and listening, but she's generally a great person to chat with. She understands lgbt problems so I would recomend her if you're struggling with transitioning or ect.
