Heather Naughton, LPC
About me
I am an empathetic counselor with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I have experience supporting, and counseling individuals with a variety of concerns ranging from substance abuse, depression, anxiety, grief, abuse, trauma, and situational stressors related to parenting, intimate relationships, and divorce. I use a variety of tools and intervention strategies including Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Short Term Solution Focused Strategies.
I know that therapy can be hard! I believe the goal of therapy is to develop the tools that move you toward life and to let go of what no longer serves you. For me therapy isn’t about “fixing “ anyone. We are doing the best we can with the tools we have. We can accept where we are right now AND can work to improve. I honor the strength it takes to hope and am so proud of you for getting started.

I tell everyone I know about utilizing BetterHelp for their therapy needs. Heather can take what I tell her, and pick out what are the most important parts and gives me the tools to work through what I’m struggling with.

I personally have never been to therapy and as a first timer, Heather has really helped me. She listens to me and takes time to understand where the root of my anxiety really is. Giving me new perspectives to my old problems that I could never solve. I highly recommend her. She is very kind and caring. She is wonderful for your first tike in therapy or even your 100th time! Thank you Heather for all your help so far. Know you are really appreciated.
