Helen Cook, LMHC, LPC
About me
A part of each person already knows the solution to the issues that arise. Often that part has gone into hiding because of trauma that has occurred. It takes courage and sometimes a trusting relationship to allow that part to share. My name is Helen Cook. I'm a licensed mental health counselor in Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania.
I have worked with adolescents, couples and adults during my 12 years as a counselor. My training as a nurse with 21 years in the Army, a biology teacher for 11 years and a WW (Weight Watchers) coach for 20 years has also impacted my counseling skills. Working with couples using Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), training in EMDR, Brainspotting and hypnotherapy have given me many tools to help others.
Mind-Body connection is also very important and I strive to identify and work this connection as often as necessary to help people heal.

Helen showed me that she cared from the very start. I enjoy that she provides the live video sessions. I also love that she gives me information / resources that I can read and or use throughout the week in between our sessions.

Helen is a great listener and has been a great resource. She seems to take everything into consideration before responding and has provided me with valuable insights. Knowing that I enjoy reading, she also provided recommendations on books. These recommendations were helpful and gave me a deeper understanding of things and allowed us to have even better conversations. I highly recommend Helen.

Listening; is something we all believe we are good at. Some are and some aren’t, that’s the nature of people. Helen on the on the other hand is an extremely good at listening. Helen does not only listen to you, she acknowledges the underlying meaning of whatever it is you’re talking to her/with her about. I’ve not been doing this for a while but she has already given me so many ways to look out for my mind and me as a person. I’m extremely thankful for people like her.
