Dr. Hiza Jackson-Price, LCMHC
About me
My name is Hiza Jackson-Price, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor as well as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist licensed in North Carolina with over 19 years of experience working as a Mental Health Counselor, Addictions Therapist and Victim Advocate. I have worked with clients with a broad range of concerns including those individuals who have suffered domestic and/or sexual abuse or who have experienced other traumatic events, as well as individuals suffering from mood and anxiety disorders. Additionally, I have provided individual and group counseling to individuals who are chemically dependent. My experience also includes working with families, couples, high risk adolescent youth and their families, as well as the active-duty military and Veteran population.
My counseling style is empathic and interactive. I believe the counseling experience is a deeply personal interaction between two people in which the most crucial aspects of this relationship are trust, respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. Counseling is a joint effort that cannot be successful without your hard work, energy, and courage. I practice client-centered and cognitive-behavioral as well as motivational interviewing and solution-focused counseling approaches because I believe that a sense of self understanding and acceptance is essential in all situations, including understanding how our past experiences have shaped the way we view ourselves, as well as how we understand relating to others. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
If you are ready to take that courageous step towards change for a more fulfilling and happier life, I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

I absolutely appreciate Dr. Hiza she has literally been my lamp and walking stick in the darkness i wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her tools and support through my journey.

Dr. Jackson-Price is wonderful to work with. Her enthusiasm and willingness to share her own experiences helped me to open up and feel comfortable with her, and I really appreciate her "you may have ____, but it doesn't have you" approach. She was also really respectful of me opening up about my traumas in my own time, and was very supportive when I did. I greatly recommend Dr. Jackson-Price to anyone who is experiencing the aftereffects of trauma and/or anxiety.

Dr. Hiza Jackson-Price is a fantastic therapist! She’s extremely patient and understanding and creates a safe and comfortable environment for her clients to share their thoughts. She was able to immediately identify the issues that were bothering me and the cause behind them as well. She has helped me work through those challenges and shared with me some wonderful tools and exercises which I continue to use to manage triggers. Highly recommend Dr. Hiza!

Dr. Jackson-Price is by far the best therapist I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She has helped me manage extremely complex situations and problems, and has never been "bland" or too pacifist about my emotions or problems. She is very insightful and shines light on things that need work or offers powerful words of wisdom that have helped me along the path. I stepped away from BetterHelp for a while, but when I came back I only wanted to work with her! She is fantastic. She's my therapist for life, which is something I thought I would never say about anyone.

Dr. Hiza is an incredibly smart, thoughtful therapist. I specifically chose her amongst others I'd searched through because of her "one shoe doesn't fit all" approach. I like to have a therapist that challenges my thinking, and she doesn't that for me in a kind, respectful way that helps me feel understood. She has gone above and beyond to make me feel heard and in our short time together I feel as though she understands me on a level many people in my life don't. She's an excellent listener and so very insightful. I would highly recommend Dr. Hiza to anyone looking for a thoughtful but forward therapist.
