Hi there and welcome to the first step in making a positive change. My name is Holly Abbott and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Alabama and Georgia. I am also nationally certified as a therapist. I have 12 plus years of working with people from all backgrounds. In the past, I have worked in the school system, private practice and with local agencies to help youth and adolescents, individuals and families. I have experience in working with a wide range of concerns and mental health issues, but a few examples are trauma/abuse, ADHD, anxiety/depression, Autism, relationship issues, grief/loss, parenting concerns and life changes.
I love people of all ages and backgrounds and feel that I have a calling to help anyone work through difficult times and situations. Showing compassion, acceptance and understanding are only a few of my qualities. I am easy to talk with and aim to create a safe and non-judging environment for you. Holly has been absolutely amazing. Literally a God send. When I met Holly my body and mind was filled with anxiety and I negativity. Holly has been a safe space and has helped me to overturn my thinking and anxiety filled habits. Searching for a therapist is quite the feat and I’ve had many I just did not groove with. I would absolutely recommend Holly to my friends, family and loved ones. She really cares and does her best to help and support you while providing real feedback/perspective to help you grow!

Holly very quickly makes you feel comfortable. She listens and validates your feelings and helps you see the things you do that aren't the best (guilty) for your mental health. She is very "real" and not clinical in her approach at all, which makes you feel like you're talking with a friend.

I really enjoy working with Holly. Actually, I started in March and had to stop due to financial constraints, but I started having hard time with my anxiety and instead of going through my insurance I came back to Betterhelp specifically for her. I really feel better when I talk to her. I feel heard, and I feel she gives good feedback. She helps keep me accountable to my mental health and overall well-being.

Honestly, I've known I've needed to talk about my crap fro awhile. I've tried talking it out before, but it never felt...right. like, there wasn't a connection. It's different with Holly. I feel at ease, like I can joke, and she pushes me to actually confront what I'm trying to look at.
So far, I've had three sessions, but this is the most comfortable I've been talking about my trauma, and I've already started feeling better. My brain still don't work great, but I feel better. So, thank you, Holly.
