Dr. Holly Cabuhat, Psychologist
About me
I am a licensed in Psychologist in Southern California with over 13 years of experience working as a mental health therapist. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. The majority of my work has been targeted to working with adolescents and families. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, self-harming behaviors, social skills deficits, executive functioning deficits, ADHD, Autism, and PTSD . I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I have assisted many families in navigating educational systems and am very familiar with the IEP process. I have assisted my client's in advocating for their needs as well as the needs of their adolescents.
My therapeutic style is warm and interactive. I believe in the power of one's thoughts and that if one is able to challenge and adapt the way one thinks about a situation, it can have a powerful impact on their perspective. I believe in treating everyone with respect, empathy, compassion, and that everyone has something valuable to give to the world. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, family systems theory, motivational interviewing techniques, and solution-focused therapy. I am open to adapting my practice and approach to meet the needs of my client.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. I am here to help you to reach your potential and be the person that you truly want to be.
I look forward to working with you!
