Ilse Larrivee, LCSW
About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in Maine, and I have had the privilege of working with families and adults for over 10. I have worked with clients struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, substance abuse, family conflict, anger management, LGBTQ+, intimate partner violence, families working with child protective services, and supporting parents who are raising children with behavioral issues.
My treatment style is strength based, judgement free, and I see our therapeutic relationship as being a team. I have training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Intimate Partner Violence, Non-suicidal Self-injury, and Structural Family Therapy. Most importantly though, I have learned that people are incredible, strong and resilient and I would love to support you in reaching your treatment goals and improving your life.
"I'm not saying it's going to be easy; I'm saying it's going to be worth it." - B. Dave Walters
I look forward to working with you!!

Ilse has helped me gain perspective on my anxiety, given me tools to lessen it, and encouraged me to be kinder to myself. She is an effective and friendly therapist and I highly recommend her.

I've only had a couple sessions, but I feel such a big relief already. She really listens and understands me even when I feel like I'm all jumbled with my words. I've never been to therapy before and I still have a lot to unpack, but she's already given me lots of support and some tools that I can use moving forward. She also has a great sense of humor which helps keep things light and eases a lot of my anxiety. I didn't know exactly what I was looking for when I started therapy, but I think I found it.
