About me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. I have a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from San Francisco State University and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology with a focus in cross cultural issues from Cal State East Bay. I have over 17 years of experience working with a diverse population of families in crisis and traumatic situations and youth ages 12 -19. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, and life challenges. I have also helped many people who have experienced trauma or emotional abuse.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I believe in meeting everyone where they're at within their own unique set of experiences and providing a safe non-judgmental space to work on self healing. I encourage clients to find joy in life by not sweating the small stuff and find something each and every day that puts a smile on their face. My approach to counseling combines cognitive-behavioral and solution focused therapy along with motivational interviewing. Since every individual is unique I tailor dialog and treatment plans to meet specific needs.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Love talking with Jacqueline. She has helped me tremendously in getting me to the other side of my stress, anxiety, depression, and grief. It’s such a huge relief to have someone who is unbiased to just take the time to listen and talk me through my emotions without having to worry about judgement.

Jacqueline is very kind, patient, and easy to talk to. She is both affirming and encouraging of boundaries and progress. Her approach allows for a lot of introspection while still sharing in her knowledge and expertise.

I truly enjoy having Jacqueline as my therapist. Through my time and sessions with her, she has always done a great job to help me feel heard and seen. I've always contemplated therapy but never went through with it in fear of not having a good experience, being judged, or not being understood. Meeting Jacqueline for the first time, she really brought me to ease with how thoughtful and intentional she is. She listens - really listens and genuinely cares about what I have to say every week. She really has helped me discover a lot about myself and allowed me the space to find my authentic self. I've searched so hard to find a women of color therapist. It's so refreshing to see more Women of Color therapists and know that there is someone you can relate to. To me that representation matters and means so much during the healing process. Above all, Jacqueline is really good at what she does! I really look forward to my therapy sessions and I couldn't imagine anyone else to be my therapist.

Jacqueline is a genuine person. She is an amazing listener and reaches out if I don't schedule another appointment to make sure things are okay. She makes me feel like I can tell her anything and overall just safe. Very professional and I love her insight, advice, and how she makes things so easy.

Jacqueline has been amazing. I look forward to our calls every week and talking things out with her really helps. She’s super easy to communicate with and checks in with me if I forget to make my next appointment. She’s prompt and flexible as well.
