Jacquelyn Beniquez, LMHC
About me
I am licensed in New York with over 20 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, LGBTQIA related issues, intimacy related issues, & coping with life changes. Although I do not identify as being part of the LGBTQIA community, I am an ally. I am a certified sex therapist with a second master's degree in Human Sexuality. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
I approach the therapist relationship with an acute sensitivity and respect for multi/cross-cultural factors. I always consider health and healing requires an understanding of how our unique bio-psych-social-sexual-spiritual aspects are inclusive of wellness not separate. I firmly believe that everyone has within themselves the power to heal themselves. I consider my work as a therapist is to educate and assist individuals in uncovering the resilience, they already hold within to create the life they want.
I often use worksheets and journaling for work between sessions. I do my best to respond to messages received within a few hours. I generally respond to messages Monday - Sunday 6 am - 8 pm. I work most weekends from early morning to mid afternoon. I hold my therapy sessions on Saturdays & Sundays only. Please note that I am not available for counseling Monday - Friday. I am currently seeking to fill early am openings at this time. I currently only have opening for Saturday 8 am & 11:15 Sunday 10:30 am. Feel free to reach out if this works for you.
