I am a licensed mental health counselor and a master credentialed substance and alcohol abuse counselor in New York. I have over 15 years of experience providing multi-systemic therapy to at risk families and adolescents; and over 15 years of experience providing cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing to adults struggling with co-occurring mental health and alcohol/substance use disorders. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, and acculturation issues. I also helped many people who have experienced physical, sexual and emotional traumas.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in providing counseling that is culturally sensitive where everyone is treated with respect and compassion. I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, strength focused, person-centered, and humanistic counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first step towards change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support on that wonderful journey.

I have an understanding therapist. I am thankful for the managing panic attacks technique. I feel like my therapist is a great listener. Hopefully I can continue using better help, and I will refer all my friends who inquire about therapy,

I was one of those people who thought that therapy was a waste of time, but it wasn't until I was losing myself that I signed up and started getting help, and I can tell this is the best money I have spent in my entire life. Jaida is amazing. I swear she understands me; she isn’t one of those therapists who will enable your behaviors or tell you things. She takes the time to understand you as a person and helps you with all your needs. It is vital when you are seeking a therapist for you to find someone who understands you, and she does, and I am grateful for her.

Jaida is amazing. I was so hesitant to begin therapy but speaking with her is like talking to someone I’ve already known and all of her advice and time is so helpful. I see consistent changes and I’m really hopeful moving forward with her.

She is wonderful. She makes it really easy to share and feel comfortable talking too. It always feels like a conversation with a friend, and not an appointment.

Jaida is a great listener, honest in the best of ways, and you can tell that she genuinely cares about you and your situation. I’ve had other therapists before but never have I connected so well and felt more comfortable with one (even though she’s my first virtual therapist!). I could not be more thankful for her support and advice.

Jaida is great! She talks to me like a person, like a friend I've known for years. In our first session I felt comfortable within the first few minutes of our conversation. Never once did I feel like she wasn't listening.

Jaida is a compassionate therapist. You can tell that she truly has passion in her work. I haven’t worked with Jaida for long but have learned a lot through her in the short time that I’ve had her as a therapist. Jaida has taught be coping skills to help me when my anxiety gets to be to much. Not only that but together we have made a safety plan to talk about any danger that I should be involved in. I would highly recommend Jaida to anybody that needs trauma/abuse therapy!

Jaida has made me feel extremely comfortable. She also does a great job with pushing back when I seem to take shortcuts out of answering certain questions. She does a good job with challenging my thinking and I am a very strong thinker. I am also very expressive. She is very attentive, kind, transparent and honest. It's been an eye opening experience for my first time ever in therapy.

Jaida was very quick to respond when I needed help right away. She did a great job of maintaining neutral ground when trying to listen to all sides of the story. She gave helpful advice to help reduce a major stressor in my life.
