James Dinh, LCSW, LICSW
About me
Hello! I'm James "JD" Dinh, (They/Them pronouns) and I'm a clinical social worker (LCSW in Texas and LICSW in Washington). I have worked with adults of all ages spanning a wide range of concerns but have particular interest in working with trauma, as well as gender, sexuality, and identity. I'm openly queer, non-binary, polyamorous, and a person of color (Vietnamese). I've helped many clients address issues related to trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, exploring identity and living your most authentic life.
My counseling style integrates a few different approaches and is customized to the needs and personality of my clients which often evolve over the course of counseling. I will give you space to process and explore safely while identifying specific strategies to start moving towards your goals and living in line with your personal values. For trauma-related concerns, many of my clients choose EMDR which is an evidence-based approach for addressing and releasing trauma so you can reclaim your life.
Wherever you are on your journey, I will be with you to explore and support your growth.

I appreciate that I wasn’t pressured to have weekly meetings, like on the phone or video chats. I’m doing okay with just messaging back and forth, that’s just my personal preference, and I’m glad that they’re okay with it as well. JD does go at your pace and that has helped me open up.

JD, listens well and gives clear and concise advice. He allows me to set the tone and keeps me on track. I feel comfortable talking to him, unlike my previous counselors. He holds me accountable but has nothing been negative.
